Nicodemus, a member of the Sanhedrin, the highest court of ancient Israel, comes to Jesus under cover of darkness and seeks explanation for the signs Jesus is performing. Jesus responds by inviting Nicodemus to look beyond the signs and into deeper and abundant life in God's Spirit - the life that comes from above.
